This book is, essentially, an “open-letter” to President John Pombe Magufuli;
in which the author, Ndugu Nkwazi Mhango, has made sincere statements of his appreciation for the sterling work which is being done by President Magufuli, of the fifth-phase Government of the United Republic of Tanzania; and, at the same time, has offered his personal advice to the President, regarding what else he should undertake to do, or should avoid doing. In presenting his ideas, the author has attractively adopted a style of writing which approximates verse, or poetry, and this obviously adds relish, and a cause for enjoyment in reading it.
His ideas appear to be in complete consonance with those of the majority of ordinary Tanzania citizens, who view President Magufuli as the “Nyerere of the present generation”; in view of his clear commitment and obvious enthusiasm in implementing the projects which were originally conceived and initiated by President Nyerere, but could not be carried out, primarily for reasons which, in the ‘hostile’ environment and circumstances of the relevant
period, were beyond President Nyerere’s capability to control; including the mega electricity generating project known as Stiegler’s Gorge, and the shifting of the entire Government establishment, from Dar es Salaam to Dodoma.
